I am an avid romantic, especially when it comes to TV and movie couples. I am ranking those moments that give me chills, excitement and giddy-ness every time I watch them.
5. Joey and Pacey - "You're off the hook"
This scene comes at the final episode of the series. It perfectly wraps up the fact that Joey and Pacey have always had an electric pull towards each other. Pacey tells Joey that she is off the hook and the simple act of being in love with her is enough for him. Joey replies that she doesn't want to get let off the hook because she might get the notion that it is ok to keep running. This scene is so perfect for them and the end of their story.
4. Nathan and Haley - "I'm in the NBA"
This scene comes later in Haley and Nathan's journey. He worked so hard after his injury to make it to the NBA and when the day finally comes it brings Haley (and me) to tears. Nathan walks in and tells Haley they should go to Charlotte to see a basketball game. She doesn't realize the news until he says "I got called up." The look on her face shows just how much she loves and supports him. The way these two celebrate when he says "I'm in the NBA" gives off major power couple vibes.
3. Damon and Elena - First real kiss
I want to give major creds to Florence and the Machine for their part in this magical scene with the song "Never Let Me Go." Damon and Elena are out on a mission and they have a flirty moment. Elena goes outside to get some air and Damon comes after her. The build up of "Never Let Me Go" with their first kiss is so epic it takes my breath away. This is a powerful scene because it starts the passionate relationship of Damon and Elena.
2. Blair and Chuck - "I'm sorry"
Blair and Chuck have had their ups and downs and in this scene Chuck apologizes for all the things that went wrong in their relationship. The Empire State Building, the hotel trade, not saying "I love you." This declaration shows how much Chuck has grown up. The look on Blair's face shows that she can see the glow up Chuck has had. These two have undeniable chemistry and Chuck's speech put them one step closer to being endgame. This is a scene I can recite because I have watched it that many times.
1. Meredith and Derek - Elevator proposal
Meredith and Derek had one of the best fictional relationships on TV. Their on-screen chemistry was off the charts and this scene shows the best of Mer-Der. The elevator is their spot for a lot of flirty exchanges and moments. Derek fills the elevator with scans of their surgeries together and waits for her. When the elevator opens and he is standing there, I gasp every time. They both accept they are meant to be together and make it the tear-jerker proposal it is.
