I am truly a hopeless romantic and love a good happy ending like the rest of us. I am going to rank the top 5 Nicholas Sparks movies that can make me believe in happily ever after, even if there are bumps along the way. These movies end with two beautiful people in love and that is what I am looking for when I turn on a sappy romantic flick.
5) The Choice
The Choice is 5th on the list because of a few cute pups and an epic teasing flirtationship that we can all root for. This movie has a very sad premise that Gabby has a choice to come back to her husband Travis and her family after she is in a coma, which is why I couldn't rank it higher. But thankfully it does end with a loving reunion.
4) Safe Haven
Safe Haven also has a dark side to it, with the premise that Katie runs away from her abusive cop husband when she finds Alex in a small Carolina town. This movie had to make the list because of the actors Julliane Hough and Josh Duhamel. They are the perfect cast for this movie. The characters have a sweet chemistry that makes you root for them. It also ends with a happy twist that will make you think.
3) The Last Song
The Last Song gave us the epic relationship that was Miley Cyrus and Liam Hemsworth and that is all that could be said to plant it on this list. But alas, the movie is filled with teenage summer love that keeps you coming back to it even though you know the heartbreak of Ronnie's dad dying will hurt every time. This movie gave us the masterpieces that are Will singing "She Will Be Loved" and Ronnie singing "When I Look At You."
2) The Notebook
I don't know how to even start this explanation of the national treasure that is The Notebook. This movie is the most famous Nicholas Sparks movie and for a good reason. Ryan Gosling telling Rachel McAdams that he wrote he every day for a year will never not be romantic as hell. This movie has the best one-liners that will make anyone swoon. It ends with a satisfying ending for the couple as a bonus.
1) The Longest Ride
The only movie that could top The Notebook is The Longest Ride. This movie goes through a roller coaster ride like all the others, but its legendary ending seals the deal for me. When Luke buys Ruth's painting for Sophia and ends up with the whole art collection, it might be the happiest twist Nicholas Sparks has ever written. We then get a peak into their adorable life together. This perfect ending gives my heart a little flutter each time.
